Shamim Ahmad Khan Chairman

Mr. Shamim Ahmad Khan is associated with the Company as a Non-executive Director, He has served various government organizations in different capacities namely Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and Ministry of Commerce (MoC).

He has also been engaged with consultancy assignments for Asian Development Bank and other organizations. Currently, Mr. Khan is serving as director of Abbott Laboratories Pakistan Limited and IGI Holdings Limited (Formerly IGI Insurance Limited). He is also a member of the Advisory Committee of Centre for International Private Enterprise Pakistan.

Syed Hyder Ali Director

Syed Hyder Ali, graduated from University of Michigan, USA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1979. He completed his Master of Science in June 1981, specializing in paper chemistry. In 1997, Mr. Ali also attended the program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.

Chief Executive and Managing Director, Packages Ltd. Mr. Ali has wide and varied professional working experience spanning over many years in paper production, conversion and packaging. Mr. Ali has been involved in the development and implementation of processes for the pulp and paper mill at Packages Ltd. using wheat straw as a raw material. He is the co-author of two USA patents for the recycling of milk and juice cartons.

Mr. Ali serves on the Board of a number of Companies like Bulleh Shah Paper Mill (Private) Limited, IGI Holdings Limited (Formerly IGI Insurance Limited), Nestlé Pakistan Limited, Packages Lanka (Pvt) Limited, Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited, Tetra Pak Pakistan Limited, Tri-Pack Films Limited and International Steel Limited (ISL).

He is a member of the Board of Governors/Directors of WWF- Pakistan, Babar Ali Foundation (BAF), National Management Foundation (NMF), Ali Institute of Education (AIE), Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), and Pakistan Business Council (PBC). He is also a Member of the Executive / Management Committee of Syed Maratib Ali Religious and Charitable Trust Society, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Pakistan.

Mr. Ali is married with three children. He is the Honorary Consul General of Sweden in Lahore since 1998.

Mr. Faisal Khan
CEO IGI General Insurance Ltd

Mr. Faisal Khan has been appointed as CEO at IGI General with effect from 16 February 2024. Faisal has been with the Packages Group for the last 18 years in different leadership roles and he boasts a proven track record of driving growth and success, having played a pivotal role in transitioning IGI General from a captive to a market-oriented business in the non-life segment. Faisal established the crucial Risk Management Function at IGI, fostering a strong risk-awareness culture within the Company and the Group. Notably, he spearheaded in crafting new partnerships with world renowned reinsurers and several multinational insurance networks across the global non-life insurance ecosystem.

Being a skilled insurance professional with a strong foundation in engineering coupled with a successful career in the insurance industry, Faisal brought a unique blend of technical expertise and business management acumen. He has attended numerous professional development programs in Pakistan (LUMS) and global centres of excellence in the insurance world during his service at IGI. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK; and have been a member of the Executive Committee of the IAP since 2021 until 2024 besides he has served as a Chairman of the Property (Technical) Committee at IAP after consecutively serving as a member since 2009, representing IGI.

Syed Hasnain Ali Director

Mr. Syed Hasnain Ali is a Director of HY Enterprises Pvt Ltd. & Paper Clip Pakistan Pvt Ltd. and also a Partner in MAGNUS. He is actively taking part in running the diversified group of companies that are involved in commercial printing, educational services, retail, fashion bags, work wears, uniforms and furniture, electronics & commodities trading, etc. At IGI General, his experience and business insight will be valuable in charting a course towards greater expansion, profitability and strategic growth for the company.

Mr. Hasnain received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Business Studies from the University of Buckingham and went on to complete a Post-Graduate Diploma in Service Management. He began his professional career at Nestle Pakistan Ltd. as a training coordinator in the HR department, and formed HY ENTERPRISES in 2007.

Mr. Hasnain has also served on the board of Wazir Ali Industries.

His mission is to enable organizations to achieve impactful results through strategic legal guidance, innovative problem-solving, and collaborative leadership. As Shell General Counsel for Projects & Technology, he played a pivotal role in overseeing supply chain optimization, digital transformation, and global operational improvements.

In his role as VP for Government Relations, he was Shell’s most senior relationship executive working at Ministerial level with governments and multilateral institutions and at board level with the national oil companies, to promote Shell business interests.  Shell’s 27 country chairs in Asia from Australia and New Zealand, to China, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, India, and Pakistan reported into him. His areas of responsibility and expertise include advocacy on key international issues as well as reputation and media management, and through the country chair network, managing cross business accountabilities including functional responsibility for Shell’s Asia GR teams.

Mr. Syed read PPE at Oxford, then qualified as a barrister and practiced in the High Court in England, then qualified as a solicitor and became a partner at Reed Smith, global law firm.  He is also admitted to the Punjab High Court.

He has been the Shell nominated representative to Chatham House (The Royal Institute of International Affairs), The International Institute of Strategic Studies and The Royal Society of Asian Affairs and a Board member of key commercial or trade organizations including Netherlands Japan Society, Malaysia Business Council, the Pakistan Britain Trade and Investment Forum and the Singapore British Business Council.

Maheen Rahman Director

Ms. Maheen Rahman has over twenty years of experience in investment banking, research and asset management. Currently she serves as the Chief Executive Officer of InfraZamin Pakistan, a Private Infrastructure Development Group (UK) company, and has played a crucial part in setting up operations and developing a project pipeline. InfraZamin’s credit guarantees assist in de-risking projects and transactions to enable access to finance to underserved sectors and companies. Under her stewardship InfraZamin has developed and executed a number of award-winning transactions that have achieved local and global repute.

In her previous appointment, Ms. Maheen Rahman served as the Chief Executive of Alfalah GHP Investment Management where, under her leadership, Alfalah Investments has grown to be one of the largest asset management companies in Pakistan. Prior to that, she was the Chief Executive of IGI Funds, Head of Research at BMA Capital Management, Corporate Finance Associate at ABN AMRO Bank and Investment Banking analyst at Merrill Lynch. She has the experience of working across multiple geographies during her career.
